Eh, if I'm a Red Sox fan I think I would rather have Johan Santana and Coco Crisp over Jon Lester and Jacob Ellsbury. Yea, I think Ellsbury is going to be a stud, but Crisp isn't Juan Pierre. He's a damn good defensive CF. And Santana is much, much better than Jon Lester.
All this is of course assuming they'd re-sign Santana.
If they don't get Santana, speculation is they'd be first in line to grab Dan Haren.
I really miss baseball right about now...

Agent says Pettitte will most likely comeback and pitch for the Yanks.
This would seem to take the D-Backs out of the running for Haren or Blanton, as Quentin was thought to be a key in any deal with Oakland. Unless either Carter, or 1B Conor Jackson might be of more interest to Billy Beane??

• The Diamondbacks are close to trading Carlos Quentin to the White Sox for minor league first baseman Chris Carter, MLB.com reports. Carter was drafted out of Sierra Vista (Las Vegas) High School in the 15th round by Chicago in 2005 and is ranked among the White Sox's top 10 prospects by Baseball America.
the Quentin trade is a done deal

Quentin getting traded was a sure thing. The D-Backs want Upton up right away and they locked up Byrnes so no real openings in the OF.
This Carter guy seems highly touted, I'd guess they got him to use him in a deal, unless they have really soured on Connor Jackson(not a stretch, Tony Clark got a lot of time last year). Anyways, I wouldn't rule them out of any trade, they have a ton of young talent.
