I remember this guy being a really highly touted prospect for the Devil Rays. Wonder what happened.

Scott Linebrink signs with the White Sox.

Seems like kind of a lot for a guy who wasn't very good last season. Especially down the stretch.

Really didn't see that coming by the Reds of all teams.

I know he had 44 saves but 66 games played is worth 46 mil?

    275 mil wasn't enough for A-Rod

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3126616

If he eventually breaks Bonds home run record it will net him another 30 mil putting his 10 year deal over 300 mil.

Yanks can have that mess as far as i'm concerned.

Kerry Wood re-signs with the Cubs. Could be the new closer giving him some actual fantasy value.

given the Yanks' readiness to sacrifice the future for the present, I wouldn't be surprised if they offered a similar package

Mets and Angels seem to be in the Santana

A major league executive with knowledge of the Twins' trade talks told 1050 ESPN New York's Andrew Marchand that the Mets should not be counted out of the Johan Santana Sweepstakes. Mets general manager Omar Minaya has had talks with Twins GM Bill Smith
    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3131358

    And from Buster Olney

f the Angels look to make a deal for Santana -- and they have checked in on the situation, as Mike DiGiovanna writes -- that would seemingly take them out of play for Miguel Cabrera, because they might not want to commit all the prospects necessary to get both guys. If that's the case, you would have to wonder if the Marlins would simply decide to hang onto Cabrera, because the Dodgers and the Angels have not been bidding as aggressively, so far, as Florida would have liked.
