5 games back toward the end of July against a team that obviously has your number, at the time being, is not a good spot to be in.

If the Angels win the next two, 3 games back is manageable because the Rangers are likely not going to win 12 or more in a row again.

If the Rangers win the next two, you can crown them AL West champs already. Angels won't come back from 7 games against a team with good pitching and hitting.


...another note, how is Mathis still playing? At this point, I'd take Conger over Mathis any day of the week.

Wow I stopped watching the game when the Angels were down 8-3 to play NHL 11 with my friend (rare that I do that), and thought it was going to be a big lose AGAIN. What do I see on angels.com haha a HUGE Halos win 9-8 wow amazing really for a team hurting to drive in runs.

The Texas bullpen is their weakness, you just need to get past their starters and start doing some damage like tonight.

I hope Weaver is on his A game, and brings the hurt for the Texas hitters...and the bats come alive again to win the series!!! If so, then the Angels still are in the run with them. I'm hoping at least. Go Halos!

If anybody can get it done, it would be Weaver. Hopefully he can get some run support.

Went to the game last night and thought it was over when it was 8-3 Texas. I couldn't believe it when their bats came to life for that 6 run inning to take the lead. Was fun to be there!

Need a big win tonight.

Who wants to trade him? Haven't heard anything about that. But if rumors are flying around, it's probably because his greedy agent Scott Boras is going to demand way too much money.

For Weaver's case, you pay the man whatever he wants.

The Angels wont be able to sign both Weaver and Haren. Also, I think Weaver won't stay in Anaheim because the Halos won't be able to match what the other big guns can offer him.

I think trading Weaver can bring in some much needed talent for the Angels. Also, what happened during the offseason makes me think Weaver might not be happy, or want to stay here anyway. We will see after the end of next season, but I would not be surprised if Anaheim trades their ace away
