Everyone is talking about Pujols and Wilson, but the overlooked move is acquiring Ianetta. Ianetta is a good upgrade over Mathis, as much as I hate to say it.

It's shocking how Mathis still has a job after all these years of complete suckage. Quite possibly the most ineffective professional athlete I can remember, ever

The only way to justify this deal, is if Pujols had turned down a better offer from the Yankees. If that's the case, I'll have a little respect for Pujols. Great pickup though for the angels, hope its worth it for them.
Heard on The Hotstove The Miami Marlins offered 10 years 275 mill but no no trade clause would be included in the offer. Apparently that was a deal braker.

Baseball is very affordable compared to other sports. The Angels in particular have made it a point to keep tickets affordable. They were selling ticket books that were redeemable day of game for $5/ticket. Outside food is not discouraged. I can see a couple of baseball games (tickets, food, parking) in the seats I like, for the price of one hockey game. This is a deal that will pay for itself barring major injury or massive rapid decline.
