A new year and a new season for the Halos. Yes, it's early but I want to post all the offseason news/spring training inforamtion, as well as the normal season content in one area.

There are threads on the BP additions already, so no need to repost them under this thread etc. But going forward let's post everything under this thread.

Damn I do not want the Rangers signing Beltre. The Halos' front office better start making some big moves and upgrade the team. Arte Moreno does not want to spend $$$ it seems. Not good at all. Ticket sales will go down and down if the team is not better in 2011

I would not mind Vlad coming back, but I don't think he will have the same numbers as last season tho. The Angels do need to replace Matsui's bat in 2011 with someone better!

I'm not getting any high hopes for this season. If they think simply signing two relief pitchers solves the problems from last year, they are nuts. Yes, I know losing K Mo was a big blow, but the problems on offense ran much deeper and they have done absolutely nothing to improve in that area.

Yeah I have to agree with you, HockeyMariner88. I don't have high hopes for next season at all. And the Rangers have only added to their team during the offseason.

We will see what happens later on in the year.

I'm not all that sure that Texas is really better. If anything makes them better its that they get Kinsler back. Thier starting staff is suspect. Webb is a huge question mark. They lost Lee, even though they were good last season before he came. Beltre is a defensive upgrade over M. Young but Young's numbers last season were essentially the same as Beltre's career numbers.

And Beltre isn't in a contract year.

They are still justifiably the favorites for the division but You never know. All it takes is a couple of key injuries. At least, I'm expecting the Angels to be in the race a lot longer than they did last year based on a full year of Haren and an improved bullpen alone. They won't be a juggernaut but they'll eke out a lot of 1-run games. They can't possibly be as offensively bad as last year. If they are it is because Reagins hasn't make any sensible deals from here on out and he needs to be shown the door. They still have time to make some smaller moves that could help the team. Unloading Rodney and geting a legit leadoff/LF would be a nice start.
