Go win the series against Texas and show those chumps who's division this is! That is what the Angels need to be thinking going into the series this weekend

you're right... I remember 1995 the Angels were up 12 games going into mid-August and Seattle cut away at that lead forcing a one-game playoff. We have a lot of baseball to play!

Yes there is still plenty of time, but that is not the big issue to me. We can have as much time as possible, but this team just has too many holes as it is to make a run. If they are unable to acquire a bat, there is no chance. And honestly, I'm not sure the lineup is good enough even if they are able to get one bat. Now with Pinero out, the back end of the rotation is terrible, and the bullpen is extremely inconsistent. I just don't see it in this team to make a run, so we may need to count on Texas taking their yearly nosedive. But, there are no signs that point to a Texas slide either. I'm still hopeful, but in reality I just don't think it is going to happen.

Rangers Come to Anaheim, More Trades To Be Made. Halolinks - Halos Heaven

A sweep this weekend will bring the Angels back to 6 games behind the division leading Rangers. Obviously, six is better than the nine games behind the Angels currently sit, but 6 games is a huge margin to make up this far into the season. Making matters worse is how well Texas is playing and their ability to swing deals to strengthen their roster. Interestingly, they've been able to add two players while not adding payroll...kind of a best-of-both-world situation.

Pretty much all of this has to happen for the Angels' season not to be over and for them to gain some much needed confidence. But first things first, sweeping the Rangers is indeed a *MUST*, period.

Wow, this team is just bad. What a great way to come out and make a statement against the team you are trying to chase down giving up 5 in the first 2 innings. Pitching, offense, and defense are all lacking. It's frustrating to watch, we've been pretty spoiled the past few years.

Yeah, terrible way to start the game. I'm glad I decided not to go. I would have been really upset to see the Halos down 5-0 immediately.
