Typical Vlad though, the mistake was at his ankles and no normal hitter would have hit that 400 feet. But we all know what Vlad does with that pitch lol.

We still have time to make a move, although it's a lot more difficult during the non waiver trade period.

i think the Haren move was more for next year and the year after, more then it was to solidify this year all that much. I always felt we'd make a push for Cliff Lee next year. now we don't have to. We can focus on trying to woo Crawford from TB, which i think Hunter has already been doing and maybe ad a 3rd baseman.

I'm still not holding out hope for this season. i think Texas has improved way too much both pitching and offensively and it almost isn't fair how little they gave up to do so.

Hopefully we can add one more bat, but with the offensive struggles I'm not sure if it's not too late.

Interesting stuff here. Young OF is what the Angels need, and this guy is hitting very nice in triple AAA. But, that does not mean it will happen in the Majors. At least it will be a nice def move for Left Field.

I'm thinking Juan won't be in the OF next season.

Good call up. What worries me though is that knowing the management... they'll call him up but won't give him many opportunities to play. Which will in turn, cool him off from the hot streak he is currently on. =\

Yes I agree TooCool. I would play him everyday to show the "vets" a thing or two. Get their asses in gear or ship out. I am HOPING this offseason brings good and needed changes for the Halos

Man the A's are back in second place tonight. The AL West race is not going to be easy for the Halos this season will it?

I don't think we really need to worry about the A's.

Looking at the next 2 weeks.... it looks pretty good (provided we win).

    Rangers
    3 @ Mariners
    3 @ A's
    Monday Off Day
    2 VS Yankees
    Thursday Off Day
    3 VS Red Sox

    Angels
    3 @ Orioles
    3 @ Tigers
    3 VS Royals
    Thursday Off Day
    3 VS Blue Jays

We FINALLY get to play the Orioles. What really sucks is that we only get to play the Orioles 6 times this season while the Rangers get them 10 times. =\

The Orioles did sweep Texas back in July, so that was good. Knowing the Angels, they might drop 2 out of 3 to Baltimore for no reason.

But again, just looking at the schedule... I have high hopes. Let's say we win each series 2-1. We're looking at a 9-3 record over the next 12 games.

Then look at Texas. They might kill Seattle but hopefully they'll drop 1. After that, they have the A's (who we're somewhat competing with) so hopefully they'll trade wins and we can gain a game or two. Then they have the Yankees and Red Sox. Those two teams, as much as I hate them will hopefully give the Rangers a ton of trouble.

The Yankees already swept the Rangers back in April. The Red Sox and the Rangers have pretty much traded wins with each other so far as well.

So after 2 weeks... hopefully the Angels are just 3-5 games out. If the Angels can't take care of weak teams like the Orioles and Royals or .500 teams like the Tigers and Blue Jays then we seriously don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Torii Hunter agrees to give up center field for Angels | The Fabulous Forum | Los Angeles Times

Acknowledging that "we need to do something different," the Angels' Torii Hunter has agreed to let prospect Peter Bourjos take over in center field, with Hunter moving to right field for the opening game of a series against Baltimore.

It is the first time Hunter has played in the field and started at a position other than center field since 1999.

"All I want to do is win," said Hunter, who stressed that the decision to cede the position at which he has won nine Gold Gloves was his. "If this makes the team better, I'm going to do it. ... Sometimes you have to slap pride in the face."

Hunter admitted that the Angels' outfield defense had been a "big problem," but with Hunter in right, Bourjos in center and Bobby Abreu in left, the team's coverage should be more than adequate.

"This guy can fly," Hunter said of Bourjos, who was hitting .314 with 13 homers for triple-A Salt Lake before his promotion Tuesday. "We have to give the kid a chance."

I like this move and I like this kid's potential. He seems to have it all: defense, offense, and speed. Maybe this move will give the Angels a jolt and wake them up.

Wow! I love Torii Hunter even more now. What a team player. Let's hope it works...

Well F Rod strikes AGAIN. Get rid of him and Rodney please. I don't feel too bad losing tonight because Texas got swept, but the Angels NEED to win the next two tho, because we are running out of games to play.
