True HockeyMariner88, but look at what the Halos have to face on our next road trip. Very tough series and I hope Boston does not sweep the Angels AGAIN :(

This team is so frustrating to watch. Just nobody that can come through in the clutch. Awful with risp. I feel bad for Haren. He gets no run support.

Yeah I agree with ya man. The winter meetings and offseason better bring some much needed changes for the Angels in 2011. Because Texas won't be dying out anytime soon. They are pretty set for the next few years at least.
I just hope Kendry Morales comes back to form next year. We need his offense back that is for sure.

Angels sign first-rounder Cowart | angelsbaseball.com: News
The Angels have secured their first overall pick in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, agreeing to terms with first-rounder Kaleb Cowart on Monday, about 10 hours before the 9 p.m. PT signing deadline.
...
The 2010 Gatorade National High School Baseball Player of the Year batted .654 with 11 homers and 59 RBIs for Cook County. The switch-hitting third baseman's single-season average ranks second in Georgia high school baseball history.
We lose to the Red Sox again, and Texas loses again too. So, we don't move at all in the standings lol

Thanks Jepsen for blowing the lead tonight. Yeah, there is no way the Angels will win the AL West this year.
They would need to play 32-9 for the rest of the season. To tie and take the lead. Anyone here see that happening?!?! Let's focus on the offseason and there better be big changes for 2011!

I'm sorry, but I'm not at all optimistic about the future of this team. Their 2-3-4 hitters are all over 35 and on the down trend of their careers (granted Morales would be filling one of those roles, but still 2-4-5 isn't much better), their bullpen doesn't have a single pitcher in it right now that can be consistently counted on in key situations, and it seems not a single one of the homegrown guys is turning out to be the great players they were once thought to potentially become.
I'd have to say based on prior expectations, so far Wood, Aybar, Howie, and Mathis (let me know if I am forgetting anyone) all have fallen short of those expectations. Morales is the only one who has stepped in to become a star. Yeah they are all serviceable MLB players (with the exception of Wood), but they were "untouchable" in past trade deals because they were projected to be studs. No offense, no bullpen, no back end of the rotation. It just seems like there are way too many holes in this team to be fixed in one offseason. We may be looking at several down years to come. At least the Kings have turned it around to become a solid playoff team for the next few years, or I'd go nuts with no playoffs that I actually care about!
Yes, I do agree it will take more than one offseason to fix the issues with the Angels...but one offseason can make them a playoff type team again. No WS, but at least get into the postseason and keep Texas where they belong...in second or worse
Thinking of Kings hockey, I'm REALLY looking forward to the new season and following them from day one! I'm still very new to the sport, but I will be a loyal fan going forward![]()

Man, Texas is BEGGING for someone to make a run at them. I'd say they are officially in their annual late summer downward spiral. The only difference is, this year I'm not sure the Angels have the team to make that run. It would be nice if they could cut the lead to 5 or less by Septemer. With 7 games still to go against Texas, who knows. Stranger things have happened, but they are going to have to play better baseball from here on out than they've played all season. Maybe that players only meeting will wake them up.
