Rodney is pretty terrible, but so is Fuentes. The two weakest "closers" you would want on a team to be honest.

Either way, we won tonight. Texas chokes in dramatic fashion. 6-2 lead going into the 9th, and the Orioles hit a Grand Slam to tie it and then they hit a solo HR in the 10th to win. Who is surprised though. =P

Wow some bad Angels def, and a BAD CALL at home plate...8-0 Oakland when it SHOULD had been 2-0. Baseball needs replay I'm sorry. This is *@#&!*(# stupid.

I can see why the sport turns people off. I would not blame Kazmir for this inn. The Angels made some mistakes, and that call sealed the deal. Still, he needs to work out of jams a lot better, but this is just stupid.

Well the bad call is not an issue anymore. It would be 9-0 without the grand slam after the bs ump call.

13-0 wow. Kazmir needs to be moved to the BP. Or something...because it's getting real bad now. Funny, he pitches very well in Oakland.

Good news, we did not get a shutout...but does it matter tho? 15-1 is just a joke. For real, Tony better get busy and make some trades and get rid of Francisco Rodriguez and Fernando Rodney. These clowns only make things worse for the team. Scot Shields has been pitching a lot better same with Jepsen.

Art did not upgrade the Angels during the offseason and it's starting to show lately. Matsui has been a joke most of the season, and I want to see the bank account used up next offseason. Got to spend money to make money.

I think the Angels thought the team would be in good shape, but the BP is not good and we are lacking offense big time. Man, it's going to be a hard second half going forward. When does the Kings come back?!?

I think the Angels will be sellers at the deadline this year. I tend to agree with the thought that you are either getting better or getting worse. Trying to stay the same tends to fall into the getting worse category. They'll never admit it but that is exactly what the Angels did in the off-season, try to stand pat with a slightly different emphasis towards power and less speed/stealing. Of course injuries have come into play but dissapointing performances have has a much greater impact on this team than injuries, by far.

As good as a value bet Matsui was, especially considering the Japanese revenue he brings with him that helps pay his salary, he was still a gamble as far as productlion and that gamble hasn't paid off so far. I can still support the pick over Vladdy at the time because hindsight is 20/20 and Vladdy seemed to be breaking down which he still may. With Wood, I understand that they had to give the guy the opportunity to get consistent AB's, but its pretty clear with how they handled him in the past and didn't give him a real opportunity until they ABSOLUTELY had to, is very telling. Dude can't hit and will continue not to. I liked the Piniero signing as he was signed as a 5th starter. Kazmir was a huge gamble that has not payed off. They had a good idea that Lackey might not stick around and Kazmir was the insurance. Bad, bad choice and they were betting on Butcher being able to turn him around because there were some clear declining patterns with him.

I could go on but what it comes down to is that I thought this off-season had a stand pat/let the farm develop type of feel. If everyone played to potential, they would be sitting on top of the division so I am not ready to really slam Arte and Tony. I am however starting to get the feeling that the Angels aren't really in the market for the in their prime, big-name players. They won't break open the bank and they are gun shy with their prospects. Hopefully with the nice drafting they've done of late that may change.

The Angels lose the series against the A's 5-2, and they had their chances to rip the game open today. Like in the 6th inn with bases loaded and no outs?!? Yet, nothing happens.

Well, we have the All-Star break and I hope everyone relaxes and refocuses for the rest of the season. Seattle is up next and we NEED to win 3 out of 4! Some good news today tho. One, the BP did not give up anymore runs, and the Rangers were swept by Baltimore HAHA.

We don't lose ground but don't gain any too. I hope the next three days off do wonders for the team. Oh, Mike please stop using MacFATulty LOL. The guy is worse then Wood at bat.

I would not be surprised if the Angels release Wood from the team once they are back from the All-Star break. As for Kazmir, they most likely will keep him, but maybe send him down to the minors to work on his pitchers (fake DL etc).

There needs to be some trades, but the Angels don't have a lot to work with right now.

    Oh and happy birthday, TooCool!

That's more like it Angels! They get a lot of hits and runs tonight against Seattle (which is not saying much really haha). 8-3 and let's keep the ball rolling guys.
