I havent watched the angels enough to really judge howie, but guys like willits, kotchman, aybar and izturis have been much more impressive than this guy. It may also have something to do with the difficulty of making spectacular plays at second.

Reliever Justin Speier, out since April 30 because of an intestinal infection, has aborted his minor league rehabilitation assignment and returned to Arizona to build stamina and attempt to rid himself of the symptoms — nausea, lack of appetite, abnormal sleep patterns — that have bothered him for six weeks.
Speier, who had a 1.69 earned-run average in 15 games in April, threw 1 2/3 innings for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday but did not feel well enough to pitch Sunday. Speier threw in the bullpen Monday, but with no chance of his returning in the next 10 days or so, the Angels sent him back to their spring training complex.

I think Howie's gotta play every game slump or not. Much like the Kings youth maturing, Howie needs at bats and confidence from the manager that he will play even if he's slumping. The guy is the JMFJ of youngsters for the Angels and he's going to be a hell of a player. SO lets keep him in there. THat's what I think anyway.Quote:

And about Rex and Phyz comments..... I think Phyz sucks and Rex is great even if he is a TOTAL homer. I don't think you can blame the guy, he's just that fired up loyal rah rah guy who's going to be a homer. So I enjoy Rex for what he is. Phyz just doesn't get it but he's been around long enough it would be a little strange to hear a game without him. You can listen to one Dodger game with Vin Scully calling and you'll hear a cool baseball story in there somewhere or you can listen to Phyz for a whole season and here one cool story. I know, Apples and Oranges. I like Jose Mota and his flava!
Brutal loss to the worst team in the NL yesterday. Seattle refuses to lose and has picked up 2 games in 2 days. Time to get going again boys!

Moseley is doing pretty good so far, but he's better off as a starting pitcher.
Then you have Carrasco, Bootcheck, and Oliver. These guys are horrible. If we have a 5+ run lead and they're out there. I know they'll still give up a run or two. And when we have them out in tight situations... like yesterday against the Reds. That's just ridiculous.

I have yet to watch an entire baseball game this season. Typically I watch every single game once the Ducks season is over (usually around Apr 7) but now I'm in the middle of the season!!!! I've missed so friggen much. :(
