Speaking of Elbert, the Dodgers plan to send him to the Arizona Fall League as well as a few other prospects.
After a little looking here are the prospects slated to play in the AFL.
-Scott Elbert
-Brent Leach (currently Jacksonville's closer)
-Justin Orenduff
-Lucas May
-Russel Mitchell
-Ivan DeJesus Jr.
-Jamie Hoffman
-Andrew Lambo
Only one Dodger related question today.
Josh (Los Angeles, CA): Lindblom - sp or rp in the long-run?
SportsNation Jim Callis: Reliever.
McDonald started today in Vegas despite the fact the Dodgers had said he would only make 3 starts then work out of the bullpen.
Maybe this means they aren't planning on calling him up.
Not a great start but a good one for Vegas. Picked up his 3rd win in AAA.

No. 5 PEDRO BAEZ
3B
DODGERS
Team: Ogden Raptors (Dodgers)
Age: 20
Why He's Here: .458/.500/1.042 (11-for-24), 3 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 6 RBIs, 6 R, 2 BB, 1 SO
The Scoop: Third baseman Pedro Baez ranked as the Dodgers' 10th-best prospect before the season. Signed out of the Dominican Republic last year for $200,000, Baez began his professional career by hitting .274/.341/.408 over 201 at-bats in the Gulf Coast League. He struggled at the beginning of this season with an assignment to the Midwest League and found himself back in rookie ball by mid June, this time with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League. On the season, he's hitting .237/.294/.41 but his power has come alive in August, as he's hitting .293/.369/.640 on the month.No. 7 IVAN DeJESUS
2B/SS
DODGERS
Team: Double-A Jacksonville (Southern)
Age: 21
Why He's Here: .500/.556/.636 (11-for-22), 9 R, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 4 BB (1 IBB), 2 SO
The Scoop: DeJesus has made Southern League pitchers look like they've just been throwing him BP the last few weeks, as he now has a 21-game hitting streak that's kicked his numbers up to .454/.513/.629 in 25 August games. DeJesus has impressed scouts and managers this season by showing an ability to make adjustments both during the course of the season and within individual games. \\"I thought he was real long with his swing, more of a pull mode early in the series,\\" said one manager. \\"Then he made some adjustments and got short, and he started working the balls to all fields line to line.\\" DeJesus has good bat speed and squares up balls well. He made five errors this week and may ultimately end up moving to second base, but a second baseman with a .400 OBP has plenty of value.
Here's some stuff from the Baseball America chat
Q: mike from durham asks:
I see Andrew Lambo was promoted to AA (where he has 2 HRs in 4 games) and that he is going to be playing in the AFL (as one of the youngest players in the league) are the Dodgers giving thoughts to having him skip High-A and starting him as a 20 year old in AA next year?
A:
Moderator: I love Lambo's bat, and feel like I got some bad info when I wrote him up draft-wise in 2007, when all I heard about was the \"Dazed & Confused\" makeup issues regarding Lambo. His bat is ready to be challenged, yes, and as one of the very few low Class A players in the AFL (Aug. 6 is the cutoff date for that), he's going to be challenged. How he handles the AFL will be key to his '09 assignment.
Q: Kory from Columbus asks:
What is the reason certain players (Lambo, Heyward, etc) get called up so late in the season when they seemed to have proven themselves months earlier? Why do teams wait so long to promote players who have nothing left to prove in their respective leagues?
A:
John Manuel: Injuries clear spaces; teams call up players to Double-A to get them eligible for the Arizona Fall League (though that cutoff date is Aug. 6 I believe); other factors come into play. But chiefly they don't mess with success. A player is having a good or great year in Low Class A, especially young players out of high school, some teams decide they don't want to do anything to interrupt that success. Confidence is so important to a young player. I actually prefer that method to the Bill Bavasi-style push-push-push of prospects. I just think rushing a player has a lot of downside. The player usually tells you when he's ready to move by his performance.
Q: Darren from UK asks:
Carlos Santana hasn't made the list, but being named the California League MVP after not playing in the league for a month, now that's pretty impressive! How good does the Casey Blake trade look for the Indians now?
A:
John Manuel: Gonna go a little lightning round here . . . Santana has made that deal look super sweet. He's in the mix at the top of that system as well. LA still makes the deal if it makes the playoffs but that team seems to have reverted to form.
Q: jr from valencia,ca asks:
How good can Michael Watt be? Does he have a higer ceiling that Chris Withrow, especialy with the injury riddled season Withrow encountered this year?
A:
John Manuel: Not for me, most scouts weren't as high on Watt as the Dodgers were. Withrow's injuries certainly give me pause but I'm not especially a Watt believer.
