Cruz, do the Dodgers have any promising catchers in the organization?

Hmmm, not really. Lucas May's stock was pretty high going into this season, but he had a tough year at the plate in AA and there was talk that pitchers didn't like throwing to him. He's a converted IF so I guess that's not surprising. Hopefully he steps it up this year.

Keep an eye on Tony Delmonico. He had a great debut with his bat in the Pioneer League. He was a shortstop at Florida State and played 2B in rookie ball. Word is he's not much of an IF and the Dodgers want to try and covert him to catcher. Let's hope he can make that move, his bat is really intriguing.

Very possible that this poor performance could be due to fatigue. Either way, no reason to give up or DeJesus or be down on him. He had a great season in the Southern League.
Ouch, not what you want from your #1 prospect...

But, it's something that won't be hard to correct. Never heard anything about his work ethic before this.

Yea, I'm not too worried about it. There's no shame in struggling in the AFL, it really is a tough league. Here's more on DeJesus.

    - Dodgers minor league player of the year Ivan DeJesus Jr. left the Arizona Fall League early to play in the Puerto Rican Winter League. Yesterday, the Puerto Rico native homered twice while hitting leadoff for Carolina. The shortstop prospect didn't fare as well in Arizona, hitting .254 in 16 games.

McCourt too, this one falls on his shoulders just as much as Colletti.

I can kinda understand where McCourt came from drawing the line with Ned Flanders. I would be pissed to with the Schmidt, Jones, Pierre, etc contracts this guy has offered.

McCourt didn't want to pick up the pro-rated 1 million dollars that Blake was owed the rest of the year, so we offered up Carlos Santana instead. That is just absolutely ridiculous. I said this in another thread, when was the last time the Dodgers were offering up young prospects in lieu of paying salary?

    From the Keith Law chat

Rich (Maumee, OH): Your thoughts on Dodgers P James McDonald: thanks.

SportsNation Keith Law: Could probably be their 5th starter in 2009. Upside isn't high but he's close and very likely to succeed as a 4/5.

Remember we didn't pay any of Manny's salary either. I don't remember the details on Maddux.
But I am guessing/assuming that McCourt drew the line on Flanders adding any more salary last season ans Flanders started "selling" prospects.
