Casey Blake is 37 and can play the outfield and first base, while still showing he can adequately if not spectacularly play third. Would Young really be that much of an upgrade? (Not a rhetorical question - I don't watch the AL much.)

Young would be an upgrade offensively and a downgrade defensively. I think he'd be a decent fit depending on how much you of his salary you can get Texas to pick up.

Ok Ned, Pujols and the Cardinals haven't reached a deal on a new contract.

Work you magic and bring us Albert! We know you can do it!

There's a bullpen spot up for grabs. Seems like no one from the Dodgers or even his agent has any idea what Belisario's issues are, but looks like he's not expected to be with the Dodgers in 2011.

Spring training 2011: Los Angeles Dodgers' Ronald Belisario doesn't report, may not at all - ESPN Los Angeles

Also, Podsednik ended up taking a minor league deal with Toronto. Thought he'd have some better options.

So who the **** is gonna be the starting catcher? I hope Dioner comes back to his 2008 form. He is only 27.

In Coletti's defense, Russell Martin had all the makings of being the Dodgers All-Star catcher for the next 10 years and they were thin at 3rd base.

Russell Martin was a victim of being overused. In his 2 all star seasons, his games played were in the 150s. All-star catchers like Jorge Posada and Pudge who had the longevity averaged about 140 games.

What hurts is that they probably could have traded for Blake without including Santana if the Dodgers weren't so cheap and had been willing to pay the remainder of Blake's salary. Because they wanted Cleveland to pick up 100% of Blake's salary, the price went way up and they ended up including Santana to get the deal done. Because LA was unwilling to pay the $2MM owed to Blake they gave up a top 5 prospect when they didn't have to.

Wow, I didn't know that. Just shows you that Frank had financial problems even before all the divorce fiasco. He cared (cares) more about the money than winning. That lying POS.
