4/5 of the rotation is set in mid-November, not bad. I'm guessing they go with an open #5 spot , letting guys like Ely battle it out with a few vets reclamation projects.
Seems like Loney has a good chance to be dealt, maybe for some pitching depth. There are plenty of 1B on the market, so Ned probably feels he can get a bargain, maybe on a guy like Derrek Lee.
On last night's 11 oclock news Loney was mentioned as being on the block. Maybe Ned can include Broxton in any deal. I can't stomach that guy for another year.
Also, interesting pondering in this article debating a Kemp for Utley deal. Isn't as crazy as it might initially seem, though still highly unlikely.
It would've been nice to get in on Dan Uggla, considering how cheap the price Atlanta paid for him.
At least they brought back Davey Lopes. Before Fernando-mania, my dad was just a casual baseball fan but he loved the way Lopes hustled and played the game. I'm too young to remember but if he's my pops' 2nd favorite all-time Dodger, that's good enough for me. Maybe he can light a fire under Kemp and get Martin to take the darn J off his jersey.
Very pleased Donnie Baseball brought Lopes back in. Now if they could just convince the ownership to sell to someone who has some money and is willing to spend on a championship. As long as the "the parking lot attendant" owns the team our favorite baseball team will suck.
