Well, today Broxton did a Broxton and the Kings lost Game 6.

Broxton sucks, he needs to be pulled from the closer spot.
The scary thing is we don't have many options to replace him with however....
Yesterday Broxton was also the victim of two bad defensive plays, Carroll's error with 2 outs that would have ended the game and Sands misjudging a line-drive that ended up as the hit that won the game. But yes, Broxton continues to look shaky everytime he's out there. Kuo is hurt and Jansen has been awful, so there go two of the top replacements.
I still think Padilla is the logical choice should Mattingly decide to replace Broxton at closer. After a couple relief appearances I think Vicente will be ready to take over the job if needed, he has all the pitches necessary for the gig.

So Ned mentioned today it's closer by committee now with Padilla and Kuo joining Broxton as options. My money is on Padilla securing the job by Memorial Day.
Also of note, X. Paul was claimed by the Pirates. Guess Pittsburgh is the place where ex-Dodgers (and now Angels too) prospects go to fade into obscurity

Nice win today, Ethier is on fire and has even passed Kemp for best batting average. Padilla gets the save.

yup Padilla showed BroxTON how its done
I was looking at something interesting on Fangraphs.com and Padilla has always been excellent the first time through a batting order. As a starter, he usually crapped himself between the 4-6 innings. I think he may find great success as a closer.
Well, that was quick. Mattingly gave Broxton's job back after one save by Padilla. Of course, Broxton gives up a run. Give it up, Donnie.
