All right, all right, all right. He's had a good month. We've won 8 of 9. It's Cinco de Mayo. Can we start getting drunk yet?

Okay, so in the previous 3 seasons Pierre is at .330 OBP, while Loney in his first 3 seasons is at .363. What is that, bad as well ? What about Kemp at .345? Does he suck too ? Those are all pretty close to each other.
Why aren't you calling out Loney on his 2 career stolen bases? I've seen him dishing his fair share of outs to the opposing team while trying to steal.
People around here seem to give everybody but Pierre a free ride.
Pretty much anyone that knows anything about baseball knows that DeWitt should be in the minors. And that's not to say you don't but it's logic. He has done very well in exceeding the expectations people inside the organization had of him. But in an ideal world, you'd want a healthy LaRoche at third with a legimate shot at taking the spot that's been his to take for the past 2 seasons and you'd have DeWitt down getting as many ABs as possible for LV until his call-up in September. This would give LaRoche the opportunity to take the spot he's been either unable to hold or was unavailable to begin with.
DeWitt's talented, don't get me wrong. He's done more than I expected...but he's young, he's raw and one month of limited action is not any kind of barometer to start changing your expectations of him. I can't wait to see what Pierre's statline looks in September. Still, DeWitt's impressed me with .421 avg, .542 obp with RISP. For a young kid, that's a pretty damn good line especially because he's done most of his hitting down the lineup.
But I wouldn't be disapointed when Nomar and LaRoche are back up.
Of course it's not. Only people who have played baseball at a high level are allowed to write and comment on it. The rest of us fantasy geeks don't know what we're talking about. I mean why make judgments on stats when you can get by on good old fashioned gut feeling about a player, whether or not he has dirt on his jersey, and if he's a gamer or not.
Well, first off .363 and .345 are quite higher than .330. And they have power, and Pierre doesn't.
First off, stolen bases aren't nearly as important as getting on base and hitting for power.
Secondly, Loney's been thrown out four times in two years.
Quite false. See also: third base; Jones, Andruw.
Also, in Kemp's largest season sample (2007), he OBP'd .373 and OPS'd at .894.
Loney OBP'd at .381 and OPS'd at .919 last year. Awesome.
I don't think it's entirely fair to include Kemp's first year up, when he was so raw that he still couldn't hit a major league breaking ball.
Also, both players are 23 and haven't played a full season of ML baseball yet (obviously).
Also, both players make about 83 times less money than Pierre.
...are we seriously comparing Pierre with Kemp and Loney? This is ridiculous.

How about good old fashioned hard work during the off-season. How about realizing what your weaknesses are and working on them to make yourself a better player. How about taking advantage of an opportunity for some playing time and running with it.
Larry Bowa and Joe Torre obviously do.
I can just see it now, some people on this board actually wanting DeWitt to fail so they can say "told you so."
