Not sure, I don't think he has been hurt as he looked fine yesterday. Part of it might be the handful of lefties we've seen over the last few days, I know Pierre is a lefty as well, so I don't know if that really flies.

Looking at the stats, career wise Ethier has been just ok against lefties: .287/.333./.389. And this year he has struggled thus far: .143/.273/.143.

So that could be a possible reason.

Juan Pierre's numbers vs lefties are pretty much the same as his vs righties career wise:

.302/.348/.344

This year he has been unreal versus lefties

.474/.545/.474
