Terrible.
Things are looking great the Dodgers...
-McCourt divorce
-Imploding against the Phillies two years in a row
-Ng and White possibly getting GM jobs elsewhere
-Mattingly possibly getting a managing job elsewhere
I'm not feeling too comfortable about the future or the present.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
This is all on Flanders. He should have dealt for Holliday, giving up Bills, and signed Pedro to keep him from the Phillies. I would love to see him fired and move Ng/White into that spot. Was hoping Mattingly would wait one more year and take Joe's spot.
I am so PO'ed about how this is going to end. I have hated the Phillies all my life! Almost as much as the Yankees!
I assume you mean Roy Halladay and not Matt Holliday, because you'd have to be nuts to deal Billingsley for a two-month rental of an outfielder we don't need. And the price for Halladay was much higher than just Billingsley.
I actually don't mind Colletti getting an extension, and I've been pretty consistently critical of him since he was hired. The long-term deals he signed before the '06 and '07 seasons have been utterly terrible--but in the past year and a half, he's done a very good job. I pretty much agree with Weisman's assessment I linked above.
Also, I really don't know how you can fire a guy who has delivered two division titles and two LCS appearances in the last two years.

I don't like Colletti either, but you have to give him credit. I never would have thought the Dodgers would have the best record in the National League with their starting pitching and inconsistent hitting. Joe Torre and Colletti have done a fine job, despite all the criticism.
Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.
