I don't figure I will be watching any of the Yankees-Phillies games. Thank God it's hockey season.

I think it's important that Colletti doesn't over-react in the offseason---there's more right than wrong with this team. But clearly--CLEARLY--changes need to be made if we're going to take the next step.
I think it's time to maybe slaughter at least a couple of the sacred cows this winter:
Ethier: he's a keeper. Was solid all year and in the playoffs.
Kemp: underachieved in the playoffs, but too much talent and potential to trade.
Loney: tradeable. We need more power at 1B. I admit he seemed to step it up in the postseason though.
I'm not advocating trading all four of those guys, but this team ought to build around Kemp, Ethier, & Kershaw. You can't keep 'em all. If we can get good value coming back the other way, I'd send some combo of those four packing. Besides, I honestly think we need a bit of a personality change, especially since Manny is bound to be a passenger next year rather than a driver.
I'd love to deal Pierre too and clear away some salary. Anybody know who the free agent coups are this upcoming winter? And besides Schmidt, whose salaries are coming off the books?
Seems as though we need an ace, a mid-range starter and to upgrade the infield.

Just a hunch. :P
