Also regarding Lowe, he could be trending downwards at this point in his career. His KOs were way down and his walks increased. While he's a sinkerballer who may get away with a low K rate, that usually isn't a good sign.
How about this, congrats to your Dodgers 2000's decade leader in shutouts.....Eric Stults with 2!!
Smoltz, not so sure. What would the realistic expectation be, that he could be a 5 inning pitcher for 20-25 starts? Same with the rumored interest in Pedro. I think there have to be better options out there at the moment.
It's a long shot but we could also pursue a trade. Possibly for Dan Uggla.
Also I think Blake DeWitt will be a nice fit in the super utility role, that you sort of spoke of with DeRosa.
I know he's not great, but I would be more inclined to bring back Jon Garland. He's the definition of average but he's a lock for 200 innings. It'll be 200 average innings but with our offense that's not such a bad thing.

Ethier 6th, Kemp 10th in MVP voting. Pretty impressive to have two Top 10 guys. I'd like to see at least one of them make the jump to top 5 next year, though both have the potential to do so. But as long as Albert stays healthy, he's got to be the favorite each season.
