If you're a small market team, it's not a bad gamble to give a short contract to someone like Hoffman, and then flip him at the deadline for assets.

Yanks picked up Berroa. This dude did a pretty good job for the Dodgers last year while Furcal was out. Despite him going to the Yanks, still wish him well in getting his career back on track.

The Dodgers re-signed reliever Yhency Brazoban today, one of 15 players signed to minor league contracts. The list also includes infielder Juan Castro, whom the Dodgers tried to sign as a utility infielder last season, and Luis Maza, who filled that role in the absence of a veteran such as Castro.

Brazoban? Really? Can't we be done with this guy already.

Don't run that site, used to contribute quite a bit though. Lately there have been less and less things to rag on the Dodgers about fortunately.
