The Dodgers re-signed reliever Tanyon Sturtze to a minor-league contract and invited him to spring training.

"We're hoping to do what we did with Chad a few years ago," Honeycutt said, referring to 2007, when Billingsley opened the season in relief. "He can get his feet wet that way and see how it goes. And like Chad, he can always become a starter again."

Can't say Bowa is wrong here.

He was fine with it as long as we were getting Miguel Cabrera in return. It's not like he was fine with trading him for the hell of it.

I don't know that Bowa has any business getting out on the radio and saying stuff like that. He has nothing to do with player acquisitions.

Not that what he's saying isn't true, but if I were the McCourts, I'd probably reign him in for fear of him hurting the brand name with the negativity.

No link, but on the Dan Patrick show this morning, he reported that sources say the Dodgers will offer a 1 year deal to Manny for 27 million. This will help him save face by being the highest paid player in baseball. Whether he or Boras will accept it is another story.

Incorrect. He said it mid-season long after Miguel Cabrera had been traded.

For this to work I think the idea of a one year deal needs to appear to come from Boras/Manny.
