So you would trade a package centering around LaRoche for a guy like Glaus? Only using Glaus as an example because he's one of the few viable trading options out there? Yea, that helps out this year but I don't think its great for the organization overall.

There pitching is outstanding but they're not going to score a lot of runs. I have to believe that Nomar, Kent, are going to wake up eventually. And Kemp and perhaps Loney could be a big boost. I'm not too concerned at this point only because I think the Diamonbacks will start to comeback down to Earth and like I said the Padres are certaintly not a collection of great talent either. The race is still wide open. I don't think its worth giving up a ton of young talent to get a guy like Glaus and be locked into his hideous contract for a few seasons. What trade did you have in mind as far as 3Bs go? Remember your boy Blalock isn't a viable option anymore!

I honestly don't expect Kemp and Loney to get much of any chance to contribute this year at all.

Ah of course. But let's be honest, that wasn't a major trade by any means. Seems like we were just trying to get rid of Milton Bradley and got whatever we could get. I don't think a major/multi faceted deal has worked out in a big way for us. Like I mentioned though he hasn't really got burned either.

LIke I said it's hard to fault him for the Lugo trade.

Still plenty of season left. Looking back none of the guys that were in our bullpen last year started the season in the pen. It's very possible that Kemp and Loney will start getting ABs. More likely Kemp though.

Considering Ned and Grady's reluctance to play young players, I really don't see them getting much of a chance at all. Obviously it remains to be seen, but I'm not expecting it.
