I finally went to a game this year and got to see a win. They dumped on the Mets. Time to pay back the Gay Team for what they did in Anaheim. I'm a little worried that the Angels will bomb Schmidt but 2 out of 3 would be acceptable.

I believe both Santana and Weaver struggle on the road so i believe the Dodgers can at least take two. I have faith with Randy going on Sunday. Hopefully the Dodgers can continue their streak with the Madres struggling against the Cubs this weekend.

    Eddie Murray was dismissed

    DODGERS DISMISS MURRAY
Mueller to serve as Interim Hitting Coach

LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers announced today that they have dismissed Hitting Coach Eddie Murray and have named Bill Mueller as Interim Hitting Coach, according to Dodger Manager Grady Little.

“Change is never easy but sometimes it is necessary and we feel that this is the best thing right now to help the team win,” said Little. “Our offense hasn’t lived up to our expectations and no one person is responsible for the results we’ve had this season. I have the utmost respect for Eddie Murray as a person and as a professional and I wish him nothing but the best.”

Mueller retired at the end of the 2006 season with a lifetime batting average of .291 in 11 seasons with the Giants, Cubs, Red Sox and Dodgers. In 2003, he won the American League batting title and Silver Slugger Award and in 2004, he was a key member of the World Champion Boston Red Sox. Upon announcing his retirement, Mueller was named Special Assistant to General Manager Ned Colletti this offseason.

“Bill Mueller will serve as a very solid bridge as we look for our next hitting coach,” said Colletti. “He already has a great reputation within the clubhouse and he has a very deep knowledge of our team and the rest of the league.”

Yeah, no more hitting the first pitch.

Oh, and he has to be the youngest coach, let alone hitting coach in Dodger history. Hell, he's younger than Kent and Gonzo.

Great hitters don't always make the greatest teachers. I don't exactly know a lot about Murray's previous hitting coach experience, but it's been clear that this team has the potential to be the NL's best - when it is patient. Still, it's sad to see another great have to be canned. I had a sort of soft spot for Eddie Murray.

Good for Mueller. It's nice to see him being used in different areas until he finds his niche.

Well, Sunday *is* a Father's day game, so hopefully they'll be breaking out the brunch fixin's! I was looking down at the seats during last night's game...and yeah, I'm looking forward to Sunday.

Btw...that game last night was awesome! The "New York Sucks" chants were goin' off...and afterwards when everyone was walking out...people were singing the ol' "Nah, nah, nah....Hey-eeey-yayyy...GOODBYE!" LOL! Good times!

I've never really been a huge baseball fan, although I enjoy going to games....but it's starting to really catch on for me, so who knows...I may become a die-hard fan yet!

*Edit* I'm kinda ashamed, though...I had to curse out some kids that were throwing crap down from the luxury suite balcony onto us last night (peanut shells, ice, etc.). The whole section around me looked at me like "Wow!"...but I was pissed...they kept throwing ****. Finally, after a bunch of complaints from our section, security went up there...and it was oooh so quiet after that. Little bastards. Ha!

That is interesting. Can Mueller even swing a bat with the knees he's got?
