    I would have bet my life savings that the Yankees would swoop in and get Teixeira if the Red Sox didn't get him. Not so much that the Yankees want Teixeira so much as they love to tweek Boston.

    The Evil Empire is back. They signed #s 1,2, and 4 from ESPN's free agent rankings. The Sox will have to respond, either through a free agent signing (Lowe??) or trading for an impact bat. Maybe they'll just sign all the remaining free agents?

    I'm guessing they'll stand pat with the exception of bringing Varitek back or whatever.

    I think Big Steinbrenner is about to croak and they're trying to win one more for him.

    he's not going to boston. Does manny really have any other choice now than the dodgers?
