So we can keep track of all the signings, trades, and rumors not involving the Dodgers.
Obviously the A's made the first big splash. Top heavy free agent class, lots of quality but big drop offs in talent after the top tier guys.

ESPN - San Francisco Giants sign free-agent reliever Jeremy Affeldt
Affeldt is a solid-good reliever. Woudn't have minded the Dodgers taking a look at him.
Giants got him for a decent price as well.
ESPN - Boston Red Sox deal Coco Crisp to Kansas City Royals for reliever Ramon Ramirez
Don't know much about this Ramirez. Numbers look solid though, about a K per inning.
Coco seemed like spare parts but a nice luxury when you have the likes of JD Drew getting hurt every other week.
ESPN - Source: Javier Vazquez dealt to Atlanta Braves in 5-player deal
Another thing to think about with this trade is it may mean that the Braves are out of the running for Peavy.

Tigers Acquire Jack Wilson
By Tim Dierkes [December 4 at 11:15am CST]
According to Dan Graziano of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Tigers acquired shortstop Jack Wilson from the Pirates today. We'll update the post as more info comes in.
Wilson, 31 later this month, hit .272/.312/.348 in 330 plate appearances this year while playing his typical excellent defense. He's set to earn $7.25MM in '09 and has an $8.4MM club option for '10 with a $600K buyout.
Nevermind
12:14pm: Dejan Kovacevic talked to Pirates president Frank Coonelly, who said Wilson has not been traded. The Tigers apparently made an interesting offer last night for Wilson, but the Dodgers remain in the mix. Wilson would have to approve a trade to the Tigers, and he and his agent haven't been informed of anything.
