Thread: Orlando Cabrera traded for Jon Garland

Figured this was big enough news to have it's own thread.

Not sure if I get this one, Cabrera is getting up there(33) but he can clearly still play.

Must be opening up a spot for Aybar? Or maybe adding a pitcher so they can afford include one in a deal for Miguel Cabrera.

How do the Halo fans feel about this?

It's a shame I won't hear the annoying "OC" references.

Holy **** are you kidding me? Doens't this team have enough offensive deficiencies as it is? I thought after dumping Stoneman that wise decisions would be all that I would be hearing from the front office.

I am not down with this trade at all. Making a spot for Aybar? WTH? Dude can't ****ing hit!

I thought it would sound better than, making a spot for Macier. I think Aybar still has some upside no?

I'm all for giving a guy with upside a shot but it seems like that is all we have been doing for the past 4 years.

Have Howie Kendrick and Casey Kotchman reached their full potential or do they still fall under the "still have upside" category?

Then there is Aybar and Izturis. What about Brandon Wood and Reggie Willits? Kendry Morales?

In case you aren't counting that is 7 names so far and I haven't even mentioned a pitcher yet. Pretty soon this will be team will have to be renamed Vladimir Guererro and his Minor League Friends.

I'm guessing this scenario. I don't think they would trade O. Cabrera unless they were imminent on something bigger (M. Cabrera?).

Maybe they did not want two Cabrera's on the same team - to confusing for the broadcasters?

The Dodgers have some guy named Garciaparra, who has some experience at short, you guys might be interested in.

He has 1 yr left on his seemingly affordable contract. What do ya think? Interested?

As much as I hope this is part of something bigger, I doubt it.
