Wait, did Schmidt change his contract to $1MM 1-year deal? Sweet! I feel much better about $46MM coming off the payroll, now.
Prior coming in as a 5th starter with an incentive heavy, one year deal is a great risk to take, especially in the NL West. But any team that has Wolf in the starting rotation isn't all that scary.
I hope for your sake that the Padres have some good minor league pitching prospects - they'll see a lot of action this season between Wolf and Prior. That, or expect some serious dumpster diving by the middle of May.
