Thread: Rafael Furcal's return to Dodgers is in doubt

Club doesn't appear inclined to give the shortstop, who had back surgery in 2008, the four-year deal he seeks.

Pointing to the position that Rafael Furcal plays, Dodgers Manager Joe Torre said recently that re-signing the free-agent shortstop was as much of a priority as re-signing Manny Ramirez.

If Colletti isn't going after Manny, isn't going after Sabathia, and isn't too intent on signing Furcal, what the **** is he doing?

They're going to suck next season.

I wouldn't give in to Furcal's demands either, sure he's the ****...but 4 years is way too many for a 33 year old SS who can't stay healthy.

It's still November. Of course he's gonna ask for the moon. If someone gives it to him, good luck to him. Giving Furcal 4 years would be like bringing Nomar back for another 2. Could work out great, but history indicates otherwise.

If the As do indeed sign him to four year which i think is crazy considering he has been on the DL the last two seasons, maybe the Dodgers can pry Bobby Crosby off their team to replace him for a year or two until Dejesus is ready.

I don't watch the AL, but Crosby's career OBP is .306. Is his defense really good enough to make it worth giving up players to bring him in over Hu or some other random free agent?

(btw, that's not a rhetorical question - I really don't know the answer.)

Crosby is terrible and might even be more injury prone than Furcal. No thanks.
