I wish the Dodgers would get good players. Instead Ned just over pays for garbage.

You mean Juan Uribe, who had a career year last year, isn't a good player????????????????

SD would not have traded him here.

Jed Hoyer(the pads GM) came from Boston, he knows these players and he goes to the AL where the trade doesn't haunt them for 10 years

Yeah you don't wait to give talent to a division rival that is for sure. Sigh, the Red Sox will be better next season it seems.

This is sad for baseball. AG was the face of that franchise and a local guy.

The Padres can't afford to pay anyone $25 million. it' would be half or more of their payroll.
I guess AG could have taken 15 mil , but could the Padres have afforded that? Would their team be AG and a bunch of players on Entry level contracts and trying to find the annual David Eckstein?

Cool....though if this officially marks the end of the Adrian Beltre era, I will still be quite sad.

Looks like they couldn't agree to a contranct extension before the deadline. The trade will go through but it could only end up being for one year.
