The Rockies have a heart
great gesture by the players . Wish stories like this would get more notice and less of the Vick variety

Nice gesture, to say the least.
Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.

Very awesome to hear. Plus they have tons of heart on the field right now.
But what type of Playoff share are they giving to that family? The Playoff Revenue? Or the bonus they receive when they pass each series in the playoffs? Unless they're talking about everything. Either way, they're a classy organization.

Two kids under 6 and his wife is due this month. It was a big deal in all of MLB, all the way down to us in MiLB. I know several organizations sent money and other things to Mrs. Coolbaugh after the incident, including mine. I think it touched a nerve, especially after a 12 year old girl took a line drive to the head while playing one of the hot corners (I cant remember whether it was first or third) just a few weeks after the Coach died. Im getting sidetracked. Anyway, it is a class move by the Rockies but lets not forget that for every 1 that takes their kindness to the press there have been 40 pro teams that didnt.
At this point, I doubt Mrs. Coobaugh is going to have to worry about taking care of her kids.

This was a big deal when it was first reported in the local news back in July. I was wondering if there would be any compensation for what happened, glad to hear the team is stepping up. Heck, this is only the second time in the clubs 15 year history to make the playoffs, and it's looking like their first ever trip to the NLCS.
I'm rooting for a Cubs/Rockies NLCS
