Default Ryan Howard needs to fire his agent

Howard wins his arbitration case and gets 10 mil.

Frankie Rodriguez loses his arbitration case and gets 10 mil.

    Something is wrong here.

Difference being Ryan Howard (2 years MLB regular) made $900K last year while Frankie Rodriguez (5 years MLB regular) made $7M.

    More leverage.

Being an MVP doesn't give you any leverage?

Not when you've got several years of arbitration left. I assume this is his first year eligible and he has two more, right?

And I mean, his salary did just increase by like 1100%.

i hope krod can afford to feed his family, i mean that 2.5 million more he could have gotten that hes bitching about would have really made the difference. My thoughts and prayers are with krod in this difficult time of making 10 mil. to play ball. Hope hes ok!

it's an operation of baseball arbitration. each side gives its number and makes its case, and the arbitrator picks one or the other, and is not allowed to pick another number. the player can't ask for too much, or they're likely to lose. so it compels both sides to be reasonable.

I actually agree with ASU and think he should have gotten more. But i also think that Rodriguez's 10 million "loss" was actually less than he should have gotten also.
