Something is wrong here.

Difference being Ryan Howard (2 years MLB regular) made $900K last year while Frankie Rodriguez (5 years MLB regular) made $7M.

Not when you've got several years of arbitration left. I assume this is his first year eligible and he has two more, right?

i hope krod can afford to feed his family, i mean that 2.5 million more he could have gotten that hes bitching about would have really made the difference. My thoughts and prayers are with krod in this difficult time of making 10 mil. to play ball. Hope hes ok!

it's an operation of baseball arbitration. each side gives its number and makes its case, and the arbitrator picks one or the other, and is not allowed to pick another number. the player can't ask for too much, or they're likely to lose. so it compels both sides to be reasonable.

Out of curiosity, what were the Phillies offering?
