Default Saito signs with Red Sox, solidifying Broxton's role as Dodgers closer

Veteran Japanese reliever, who saved 81 games the last three seasons for L.A., heads to Boston following a summer on the disabled list with an elbow injury.

Takashi Saito signed a one-year contract today with the Boston Red Sox, his departure from the Dodgers solidifying Jonathan Broxton's status as the team's closer.

So who's the 'bridge' relief pitcher from the starters to Broxton? IMO it's the the most underrated position in baseball. Finding the guy who can dominate in the 7th and 8th. Check out what the Mets did this offseason to shore up this position. JJ Putz at your service.

If they are able to sign Juan Cruz, he'd be the guy. Mota would also be a possibility if they can get him. If not, I assume Wade or Kuo battle it out for the top setup role.

Juan Cruz is not worth giving a pick to the D-bags.
