Well, Billingsley in the bullpen did not work.

He better get his head out before the regular season is over, or else this will be a short playoff year. He is necessary for any sort of deep run the Dodgers make.

I wonder why Billingsley's mechanics have completely gone to **** the past couple months. Really disconcerting, and he doesn't have very long to get his **** together before the playoffs start.

    Dear Ned:

    Pay the man.

31 HR, 101 RBI (with nine more games to go) should get him extended. Period.

    Pay the man.

I think Ned will keep him around, he did bring him to LA in the Bradley trade a few years back

Kemp needs to be locked up too.

I was listening to Dodger talk on Saturday. They said they are going to have to make a few decisions on who stays & who goes.

Don't worry both Kemp & Ethier will be Dodgers for a long time.

    Kemp is 5 HR's & 5 RBI's away from 30/100.

Here's a list of the Dodgers that are going to be asking for significant raises:

    Broxton
    Martin
    Kershaw
    Kemp
    Ethier
    Loney

    Decisions, decisions.

My thought? Broxton, Ethier, and Kemp are the only ones on that list that deserve long-term big-league deals at this juncture. Four years, minimum, is what I'd offer them since they're young enough. As for $$, I don't know.

Loney and Martin have had cagada years, but warrant small extensions because of the potential. Kershaw? I don't know. The guy is good, but young. Tie him up for two with club options after that to begin with?

We hold Kershaw's rights for quite a few years. He's got another season before he's even arbitration-eligible, and even after that--assuming the rules don't change with a new CBA after 2011--we have three more years.

Ethier, Martin, and Broxton still have two more years of arbitration; Kemp and Loney have three. I'd love to see these guys (well, minus Loney) locked up for a while--but there's no urgency.

According to mlb.com, no player in franchise history has had a season with at least 25 homers, 100 RBIs, 30 steals and a .300 average. All Kemp needs is 5 RBI's to accomplish something no Dodger has ever done.

Loney's been absolutely raking this month (i.e. getting hot at the right time).
