Meloan was DFA'd by Pirates. We traded him in the deal to get Blake last year, and he had previously been seen by LA as a potential future closer. Wild isn't it? Just shows that even "safe" prospects like Meloan have a big chance to bust. I thought for sure Meloan would be in the majors right now. College reliever who moved fast through the organization. Low ceiling but low risk. Now he's not even with anybody.

What's even worse? We could have gotten Blake for just Meloan but McCheap didn't want to pick up Blake's salary so we had to include Carlos Santana in the deal...
