PHOENIX—Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Randy Wolf will miss his next start with elbow irritation.

Manager Joe Torre says Wolf returned to Los Angeles to consult team doctors on Tuesday night and received a cortisone injection.

Wolf told the team he thought he hurt himself swinging the bat in a game. He reported discomfort in his elbow during a bullpen session on Tuesday.

dammit, hopefully it's only one game for Wolf

It's just a bunch of dudes swinging a stick at a ball. Deep breaths...

Not to mention we did win the series... as frustrating as it is to see the lead evaporate, there's not much you can do when Colorado wins 6 in a row and 8 of 9 this month. The Dodgers meanwhile have a bunch of games this month vs. bad teams, so they should make up some ground in the next 2 weeks.
