You know what the conditions are before going there. Yankees are the first team taht Torre had real success with and was well compensated for it.

That's kind of a joke. Wasn't he getting paid 7 million in his previous contract? The new contract was 5 million. Still far more than any other manager. Did Torre expect some sort of raise for not winning a world series during the last couple seasons?
