I am happy for Vlad (my favorite Angel). I will root for the guy, because he wanted to come back. Management has decided it's time to move on. But when he comes to the Big A, he's getting booed for sure.

This will either be a great signing for Texas or a huge waste of money for them. Then again, the same could be said with our signing of Matsui.

I wish the best for Vlad, i really do....but he could flop or have a breakout season....who knows?

Too lazy too look up the stats, but I heard on the radio this morning that said either Vlad is a career .390 hitter against Texas or he his .390 at Arlington Park.

Either way, Texas don't have to worry about Vlad destroying him anymore. What the Angels better do when they pitch against Vlad is to make him chase balls waaaaaaaaaay out of the strike zone.

I can't help thinking that if Vlad was a little more open to coaching, he'd still be an Angel. Some of that may rest on Sciocia too, not forcing the issue. The numbers between Vlad and Matsui may end up similar, or Vlad my even put up better numbers over the season, but I think it came down to the Angels not being able to count on him to have a solid AB in critical situations. Enough of the "Nose to Toes" approach.

He has something like a career 1.175 OPS in Arlington. It's trended downward since 2004 when it was a ridiculous 1.522

It was revealed last year that he was born in 1975, not 1976. I'm surprised it was only a one year difference.
