Managers? I don't now about that. I'm not enamored about Torre, but Mike Scioscia is overrated in my eyes and has that small ball mentality I hate.
With players it gets a little muddled. I would trade Penny for Santana but I wouldn't trade Kemp for anybody on the Angels. I like the young players on the Dodgers more than the Angels. I like our farm system more than the Angels farm system. The Angels just have a huge advantage with veteran players, but I wouldn't trade any of our young players for any of the Angels young players.
Before 2002 (the year of the rally monkey)
- Angels barely drew 2 mil per season
- About 25k per game
- Rarely would you see somebody wearing an Angels cap around town
- Angels draw well over 3 mil per season
- 41-42k per game
- Every douchebag in OC has a shiny red hat and a black one (cause they're cool)
Look at the D-backs for example. Won the World Series in 2001, drew over 3 mil the following season. Its been all downhill since then.
Hell, even the Dodgers couldn't draw out here until they made the World Series in '74, but that was all the boost they needed to secure a solid fan base for the next 30 years. I see the same thing happening in Anaheim, but only time will tell.
This post was, in a word, disgusting. And wrong. That would be a second word.
"Like being a member of a gang." ...who are you, Bill O'Reilly? Don't answer that.
Also, Dodger attendance has absolutely nothing to do with the Raiders. We call this a "non sequitur."
You call it the "OC." ...seriously? To quote Jason Bateman, "don't call it that." Actually, call it whatever you want. As the poll suggests, nobody's going to care.
I'm still not sure if "Doyers" is derogatory.
Trade teams? "No questions asked?" Really dude? Really?? Not the pitching staffs (Dodgers #1 in the NL, #4 in Majors, Angels #8). And the offenses? Also extremely comparable. Managers? No, I'll pass on small ball city. And as far as GMs go, I think they're both trying to match each other each offseason as far as who can make the more retarded signings.
Yes. Angels better record. They're a good team. We've established this. Their run differential suggests their record is way better than what it should be, but hey, that's baseball. In terms of everything else: "What ASUCruz said."
But we have a trophy case full of World Series titles. You have one. I mean, that's nice. But we have more. Plenty more. That would be a: bad deal.
Keep enjoying the curtain. I'll stick with all my gangster homies up here at Dodger stadium enjoying some Los Angeles Dodgers of Los Angeles baseball.
Living in the OC I can say there are a lot of hard-core Angels fans. There are also way too many bandwagoners (many of them bro' posers with TAPOUT shirts that think they're Jesse James or an MMA fighter, I like to call them "Mikes") but that happens when one team in an area is winning more than the other. Once the Dodgers win their next World Series you'll be seeing more LA hats in the "OC".
But for AB to say we'd trade our team for theirs....F*** NO!
I've been a Dodger fan since I was born and that will never change!
Royals fans > 3 real Angel fans
