Don't give me that BULL****! I went to 8 Dodger games in the 2005 season. Don't tell me that there wasn't another huge influx of Korean bandwagon fans. I saw the Choi jerseys. I met and spoke with dozens of Koreans who started bringing their kids to games. Don't tell me there weren't wild chants of HEE SEOP CHOI going through the stands when he was up in the late innings. I saw that **** over and over. Craziest friggen thing I've seen at a baseball stadium, fans going nuts over that never-was. It wasn't just the bandwagon fans either.
Hey. Guess what. When I saw the Dodgers play the Mets at Shea, me (white as ****, half Jew) and my friend Max (all Jew) were leading the "Hee Seop Choi" chants. 0% Korean. 100% all about the Hee Seop Choi chants.

Why? Because they were hilarious and fun. Or maybe it was because we're Korean bandwagoners, I can't remember.

We also chanted JD Drew's name. Must be cuz of all dem white southern folk at Dodger Stadium.

Craziest thing you've ever seen at a baseball game? Reallllllly dude? Angel fans cheer for a magical, hit-inducing monkey.

In short we agree, this bandwagon bs is stupid.
In both cases you are taking the actions of a few fans and lumping the hole fan base in. A few or some or a percentage of Dodger fans may think Angels fans are bandwagonners. Who give a ****?

At this point you are as bad as a him become you are categorizing an entire fan base based on the actions of a few. The original poster is a troll and always has been. That is the only thing you need to know/learn from this thread

How long does it take before it stops being a bandwagon and starts becoming a good core of fans? If they still draw these numbers for the next ten years are you still going to complain about their fans?
The problem you have is the Angels have only had one losing season since they won the world series. That one season was 2003, which coincidentally had the Angels averaging 5k less than 2004-07 (all winning seasons.) Great for Anaheim for winning, and great for bandwagon fans. Why would bandwagon guy stop going to games if the team is winning? Put a couple losing seasons together and watch your attendance drop.

Look at the D-backs for example. Won the World Series in 2001, drew over 3 mil the following season. Its been all downhill since then.
Exactly. The team went from winning the WS in 2001 to winning 31 games in 2004. Attendance dropped accordingly. Why? Bandwagon fans.

Hell, even the Dodgers couldn't draw out here until they made the World Series in '74, but that was all the boost they needed to secure a solid fan base for the next 30 years. I see the same thing happening in Anaheim, but only time will tell.
1974? Dude the Dodgers averaged less in 1975. Look at the Dodgers attendance numbers and you'll find no correlation between WS championships and attendance. The rise in attendance over 30+ years has more to do with the increase in population than anything else. Here is the change in attendance for the years after LA won a WS.

    1960 - +10%
    1964 - -12%
    1966 - +2%
    1982 - +3%
    1989 - +0.5%

    ...and for Anaheim.
    2003 - +33%

    Exactly.

They are, and that is a fantastic idea.

If you look at the Dodgers record, you can say the same thing. Since the '70s when attendance began to climb, only ONCE have they had back to back losing seasons.('86 & '87). And what happened from 1985 (95 wins) to 1987 ( back to back 73 win seasons)? Attendance dropped 14% in just two years.

I guarantee you if the Dodgers put out a team that consistently had a losing record over a few years, the same thing would happen that you claim would happen in Anaheim. No team is immune to it. Many people just don't want to go watch a losing team. So please get off your high horse in thinking that Dodger fans are so much better. You can't hold it against Angel fans just because the organization hasn't put enough losing teams out there to support your claims. The Dodgers haven't put enough losing teams out there for you to claim they would hold steady.

The Angels missed the playoffs in '03 & '06, and have only made it past the ALDS once since 2002, yet the fans keep showing up.

Hard to prove when the team draws 3 mill+ in non playoff years.
Come on man, nobody is getting racist around here. (except for you maybe)

But nobody has made derogatory remarks or claims to hate a certain type of person. If anything, it would be profiling or stereotyping, which stemmed from your claims that so many Angel fans are "bros".

Oh and by the way, the Angels drew 3 mil+ in '03 and '06, both of which were non-playoff years.

Seriously dude? Did you just do "I know you are but what am I?" Unbelievable! Actually, pretty believable.

In terms of me being racist...link? Oh wait. We're throwing around random accusations without any evidence. Awesome. That always makes arguing easier. How could I be so blind.

("Angels don't care about black people" was a parody of Kanye West's statement and was a random statement I made in order to stir the pot. Apparently, it worked. It was not a serious statement, as there are bound to be Angels that are not only black, but also care about black people. It was: a joke. It was also: not racist in any way. Besides, even if I was being serious, isn't a statement like that an attack on racism if anything else? I believe that was Sir Kanye the Magnificent's original intention for saying it. Why do I even have to talk about this?)

Profiling/stereotyping = racism. By the way. Good job admitting to that.

Also, I didn't make the "bro" comment. Go ahead. Try and find it. Seriously.

You, however, made stereotyping, profile comments, which you even admit to. Kudos. (I believe it pertained to "homies" and wearing large clothing. I'm paraphrasing. But see what I did there? I provided hard evidence of you using the already mentioned RACIST method of profiling and stereotyping Dodger fans.)

Douchebag. Stop inventing information about me.

Then you need to see more baseball games. Because chanting a player's name has been done many a-time.

And no, it had nothing to do with him being Korean. The organ prompted the chant. He has three syllables in his name. It worked. Get over it.
