I'm not sure how I feel about all these 1-0 wins United seem to be grinding out
On one hand, its good that the team is still winning despite the offense not firing on all cylinders. Obviously players as talented as Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo, etc. aren't going to be kept quiet for long. Also there haven't been many "easy" games so far.
But it is concerning that Giggs seems to be finally showing his age and that the Tevez-Rooney partnership hasn't really established itself. Understandable since both guys played hardly and pre-season together and with injuries I'm sure they have not really trained together either.
I still think that the best partnership up front is Saha+Rooney/Tevez. Either guy would do really, Saha is more direct that those 2 and he's much stronger on the ball. Plus you get that aerial threat. I still think a Rooney-Tevez partnership can work, but for now I think Saha and one of those 2 is best for the team.
So far though, the back 4 particulalry Rio have been outstanding. Getting Hargreaves back will be important especially for this Roma game, as I want him out there to mark Totti.
The United game is on ESPN 2 on Tuesday. They are showing Liverpool on Wednesday.
ManU Roma - Boring match so far
Steau Bucharest is Barcelona a run for their money.
This photo rather upsets me a little bit.
May I have this dance, Mess?
Apart from the last 3 minutes or so, Liverpool looked terrible. Game being at Anfield makes it even worse...
Hell of a goal from Valbuena.
That was the worst Liverpool performance since Houllier was in charge. They played like a bunch of pussies.
We miss Alonso in the midfield and Agger in the backline.
Pennant isnt' the best winger but we needed him out there.
Credit to Marseille, they were the cohesive team on the pitch.
