With Real signing Ozil, it looks like van der Vaart is the odd man out and ManU is reportedly interested in obtaining his services. Reminds me of last year when Real let another Dutchman go (Arjen Robben), ManU was also interested but obviously Bayern ended up getting him. The Red Devils' midfield could really use him, with Giggs and Scholes getting old, Hargreaves never being healthy, and Anderson being banged up from that car crash. Plus they haven't had a high-profile signing since Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.

Also, the Bayern game was pretty exciting, didn't expect it to be so close. Ribery with an excellent cross to Schweinsteiger to win the game.

Who here is also hoping Chelsea is just scoring all of their goals premature and will eventually run out?

They look really good right now, I mean Wigan dominated possesion but Chelsea were just incisive.

    Mascherano to Barca

Barcelona agree fee with Liverpool for Javier Mascherano - Transfers - ESPN Soccernet

Guess we got our replacement for Yaya Toure, although I wouldn't have minded Busquets taking the defensive midfielder role full time. I guess this also means Ibrahimovic will be sold to cover the costs, since Barca's financial situation isn't the greatest right now, along with the fact that he and Guardiola can't get along.

Essentially 60 million is what Ibrahimovic cost Barcelona last year. No wonder they are in a financial mess.

It was 60 Million PLUS Samuel Eto'o. Retarts. Barcelona IMO is going to struggle w/o Yaya Toure. Not to take anything away from Mascherano or Busquets, but I rememeber quite vividly how Real Madrid started to suck once they sold Makelele to Chelsea.

I love me some Pep Guardiola, but Chygrynsky was also another dumb move. Ditto the Martin Caceres and Alexander Hleb acquisitions.

I'm really disappointed with the whole Ibrahimovic situation, A front 3 of Messi, Villa, and Zlatan would have been almost unstoppable.

If it doesn't, United, the Gunners and the Reds will get steamrolled by the end of the year!

His scoring rate is excellent, even at Barcelona, the trouble is he becomes invisible in high profile games for both club and country. Some-times so invisible you don't even know he is on the pitch. For a big striker with a big reputation that can't happen.
