Mind you, Chivas does not have the big international name like LA and Dallas have and they are still in the playoffs...
It has nothing to do with MLS trying to get them in. They were all but eliminated, and when Becks was marked as "Out for Season", all the pressure and media went away. Now completely relaxed they're playing much better.

If the Galaxy were to make the playoffs Beckham could play (he returned to training today), but far more importantly Xavier and Albright could.

EDIT/Update: Riot Squader saw Xavier, he's out for Sunday but will be back for the next game.

    Winning against struggling teams helps...

Chicago will have something to say about getting into the playoffs. Galaxy hopes are very slim.

And just wait...there will be an exodus of fans from the Galaxy to Chivas USA once or new President gets the marketing going...

X I disagree. IMO The Galaxy players, coaches and GM all melted down in a big way BECAUSE of the Beckham being the line up. The travel was harder the media lights were shining way too bright for them to handle it on and off the field.
When Becks was "out" the team settled down and started playing without all the external pressures. Once he comes back and the circus gets back in town I look for another meltdown. If Alexis and Yallop are smart they will keep him under wraps until you clinch a playoff spot. getting Albright back will be a big boost as well.

I don't expect you clinch a playoff spot until 2009

Very doubtful. Chivas may gain new fringe fans, but it's highly unlikely there will be "an exodus"

It's like saying that the Ducks new image, and Stanley Cup created a large exodus of Kings fans.

That's almost exactly what I said, but not as winded.

The difference is that I think the team has been building confidence, and will improve with Becks, after all the overseas media called "the experiment" a failure and left. But as I mentioned above I find it to be more important for Xavier and Albright to return.

Another benefit the Galaxy has seen is their unknown depth. They were considered a weak team past their first eleven, but the emergence of Randolph and the steadiness of Tudela have added to the bench that would have Harmse, Vegenas, and Cobi. It's really shame that small injuries that would've usually meant missing one game have meant 2 or 3 for the Galaxy players thanks to the Tour De Beckham.

Trust me, there was an exodus of Kings fans that switched to the Ducks, they got fed up with management. Galaxy fans may get fed up with Galaxy's management and do the same, especially if Chivas wins a championship and brings in an impact player that doesn't get injured easily...

I'm not sure if you know what an exodus is then. I very much doubt it was a large number of people.

Exodus= Departure of a large number of people.

I'm very well aware of what an exodus is...

And the Galaxy will know it soon...

Right. It's far more likely that the only exodus that will occur at the HDC will be all the Chivas fans. Their wanton destruction of the HDC has been a point of discussion with the HDC FO and talk is they're leaning toward not renewing their lease.

And even if they did decide to renew, I can assure you that it will remain that the only sellouts that Chivas will see will be vs. the Galaxy.
