The Galaxy back line is simply atrocious. Alan Gordon has as much business playing professional soccer as Dan Cloutier does professional hockey.

Now I have to admit the Landon Donovan-David beckham pairing has been quite a treat to watch so far. Beckham's touch is far superior to anything in MLS right now. Another thing that I am heartened to see is that Beckham appears to be passionate about these games, he's not simply going through the motions. Finally, Im not yet sold on Cronin as the Keep but I think this team is a playoff team, but not championship caliber because of their defense.

Cronin is a disaster. I like the addition of Franchino to the team though, he adds much needed grit and experience to the midfield.

If I was Lalas, I would trade Ruiz for two solid defensemen.

The attack has been much better this year. A lot of one touch passing and movement away from the ball, ten-fold over last season.

The backline needs work. Thought Franchino was a good sub saturday. Settled the guys down, provided some needed grit and intensity.
Great substiution by Gullit bringing in a defender and moving Randolph to the midfield at the half.

Not sold on Cronin either, although he did make a few pretty good saves this weekend. Figure Wickes may get a shot sooner than later though.

Thank you, sir! It was quite the relief after the loss last week with 19 shots and the sitter that Salinas missed.
yeah I'm a G's fan, I can't root for Chivas, since I follow Mexican Soccer and a different team, to me they go hand in hand either root for both of them or neither of them.

I really don't go into the rivalry stuff at least for MLS, I just want the league to thrive and succeed but I do believe in giving credit when it is deserved and the Quakes deserved it after their performance in Colorado

p.s. as good as the donovam/beckham pairing looks, it's going to be awfully interesting when they're both gone on international duty this summer...

So what you're saying is Edson Buddle won't be as good? Hmmm, interesting....

Nice brace from Beckham yesterday. Its truly a shame there wasting such an offensive talent by putting AYSO defenders out there with him. I'm sure glad the Galaxy traded Robbie Findley last year...oh, wait....

Buddle and Gordon most definitely do not equal donovan, beckham and ruiz.

Defense seems like one big experiment. Vanney has shown next to nothing. He was way off his mark on the 2nd goal saturday. Not one for speed mr. vanney. and wow please keep troy roberts off the field!
Xavier is very hot and cold (when he plays). Still reads the game well and can win the air. But seems to leave his feet way too much.
Franchino so far has done a pretty good job of calming things down, but with the young guys you just never know what you're going to get.

Beckham's goals were fantastic. He makes it look so easy

next week vs. NYRB should be interesting, another shootout perhaps
