It's official. Liverpool signs Torres for a fee of 20M pounds and not 27M.

One more winger, a center back, and I'll be happy.

If you can land Simao that would be awesome. I still think Liverpool need to make an attempt to win the league and not just champions league this coming year. With Arsenal losing Henry & Chelsea just looking foolish, I think it might be a 2 team race between Man U and yourselves...
I'm still not convinced that Torres is all that great, but I do hope he proves me wrong...
Alessandro Mancini's name is being thrown around. Either him or Simao to platoon the left wide with Harry Kewell is fine with me.
Alves is probably out of the question, so Benayoun and Pennant on the right will do.
Torres is going to need time to adapt to the Premier League. Van Nistlerooy is the only one I can remember who tore up the league in his first season.
Looks like Carlos Tevez just signed for Manchester United.

Carlos Tevez last night agreed to join Manchester United in a permanent deal worth more than £20million.
The move will be completed next week, subject to any challenge from West Ham, who still claim to own the registration of the player who saved them from relegation last season.
20M is a ****ing bargain.
I'd rather have this guy.

Quaresma next on Benítez's shopping list after record transfer
Benítez is also in the hunt for a new winger, possibly two, and the indications from Portugal last night were that Ricardo Quaresma, of FC Porto, could fit the bill. Liverpool are said to have had a £13.5 million bid for the 23-year-old Portugal winger turned playmaker rejected, although a slightly improved offer could be enough to persuade the Portuguese club to sell.
Alessandro Mancini, of AS Roma, and Yossi Benayoun, the West Ham United midfield player, are also thought to be targets, while the manager is also hoping to force through a deal for Gabriel Heinze, the Argentina defender, even though Manchester United appear reluctant to sell him to their fiercest rivals.
I say, show Porto the money!
Heinze can buyout his contract at ManUtd and join Liverpool, which I hope he does because I would like an upgrade from Riise.
Quaremsa has AMAZING skill, but the reason he didn't succeed 2 years ago when he was signed by Barcelona was because of his bad attitude and terrible team play. When I see him play for Portugal he seems to have turned things around. If Liverpool can have Simao on right wing and Quaremsa on left. EPL defenders are ****ED. Speed, Striking & playmaking skill all rolled into one.
