No way, United's midfield was so poor. The first half was even, but Arsenal began to get more and more chances and the United attacks were few and far between. Their back 4 wern't troubled all that much.
While Rio and Brown were under pressure the entire second half and Evra had a dreadful time on the left. Arsenal deserved this victory as much as I hate to say it.
Terrell Owens sucks...
Btw, Go Hammers!!!!!!!
Ha-Ha!!!
Still don't get it
Liverpool played 3 of their last 4 matches away. The players Liverpool depended on in the last two season haven't made much of an impact.
Regardless what the possession stats says, Chelsea were clearly outplayed by Liverpool at Stamford Bridge even before Ballack's red. They won by a wonder goal from Drogba, and Liverpool didn't finish their chances. Liverpool was robbed of a penalty on a foul by Lampard. Good teams do grind out results and Chelsea did just that.
Mark my words...if he is eligible, Agger will become PFA Young Player of the Year and go on to become one of the best players, not just a defender, in the world. He is a defender, a deep lying midfielder, and a long range threat all in one. After being torn up in a 5-0 loss during a preseason match, this kid has learned and adapted very well in the EPL. A left footed defender with tremenous offensive instincts. You just have to watch one of his games to understand how good this kid is. I mean, at the age of 21, he is in his first full season on the first team rotation for a top team in the EPL, and has already displaced the rock of Liverpool's defense for years in Hyppia, in the fouth game of the season, to start against Chelsea. I am seeing why he is considered by many to be the next Beckenbauer. Benitez got himself another bargain at 5.8 million.
At 1 win, 2 losses and a tie, I am still optimistic about Liverpool's season because the product on the pitch and the upside of it is quality. An influx of new players are always going to cause management to tinker with lineups to find the right mix for the right occasions while they settle.
Against Chelsea, IMO the team selection and formation for Liverpool were spot on. Pennant probably could have used the width more. Carvalho and Terry got a taste of what Kuyt brings to the table.
The gap is closer. Everton, Portsmouth, and West Ham on paper, have improved. The other legitimate contenders will lose again.
O'Shea and Fletcher suck.. What do they bring to the table?
Oh and Ronaldo can't finish worth ****.
