Well that's no surprise. Pennant is about as average as they come.

THe thing with Essien is he hasn't played exclusivley at CM this season. He has played a lot of RB this season in addition to CM so to put him in the EPL's best 11 as a CM wouldn't make much sense if your reasons for Gerrard not being there are the same(Gerrard playing Right Mid).

If you were going to name a CM from Chelsea to the best 11 it would have to be Lampard who has put together another solid and steady season for the Blues.

That's who Fiorentina was playing when I was in Bologna, but it was too long a trip to go to Bergamo for the game. The bar I went to was great with all the games, and this amazing Italian chick does the halftime highlights.

Gerrard scored 23 goals last season spending a lot of time at right mid. Didn't get off to a good start to the season, and overall not up to his usual standards.

I agree Lampard is another CM that probably deserves the selection.

Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves says Tottenham's star striker Dimitar Berbatov deserves his place in the PFA Premier League team of the year.

The 26-year-old Berbatov has been in stunning form since his 10.9m move from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

Uk media have been speculating recently on a move for both players to Utd over the summer.

Berbatov has had a great season.

Spurs are going nowhere if they continue to sell off their best players, because next year's EPL title race is going to be much closer amongst the current top 4 clubs.

However, if they do sell Berbatov, I would like to see Liverpool take a crack at landing him. :spiteful:

United are going to need some of that Old Trafford magic today. No first choice defenders for Man U. O'Shea at LB, Heinze and Brown in the middle and Darren Fletcher at RB. Not exactly a watertight defense. That foursome against Inzaghi, Gilardihino, and Kaka. Don't really like our chances. Offense is going to have to carry the day.

There are only two Italian teams I really dislike. One is Lazio or Nazio and the other is AC Milan because they represent everything that is corrupt about Italy today.

    Who sing of victory,
Of games that brought us glory,
    From Newcastle to Torquay,
    Where sixty thousand voices,
    Roar us on to victory,
    We will follow United,
Hello, Hello, we are the Busby Boys,
Hello, Hello, we are the Busby Boys,
And if you are a City fan,
    Surrender or you'll die,
    We will follow United.
    Whether we're across the sea,
    Or whether we're at home,
    It matters not we follow,
To all corners of the globe,
    We wear the colours proudly,
The black, the white, the red,
    We will follow United.
Hello, Hello, we are the Busby Boys,
Hello, Hello, we are the Busby Boys,
And if you are a City fan,
    Surrender or you'll die,
    We will follow United.
And now we're back in Europe,
    The feeling's ****ing great,
We'll try to emulate that team,
    Of 1968,
We'll win the Cup, have no fear,
And then we'll drink your beer,
    And we will follow United...
