This is one of the many reasons why I love Benitez...
"Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Brazil Under-20 captain Lucas Leiva.
The midfielder, 20, won the Golden Boot while playing for Gremio in Brazil last season has been chased by a number of top clubs from Spain and England.
Liverpool Rafael Benitez told the club website: "The deal with the player and his club is almost done and I am really pleased he is coming to us."

For signing players? Hate to tell you man, but all managers do that sort of thing.
I've seen some video highlights of Leiva. like a combination of Dunga and Kaka. However, like most South American players he'll need time to adapt in the Premiership.
Tevez was quoted describing just how tough the premiership is.

Freddy Shepard you arse !
I have some time now so I can respond to some of these older posts.
Anyways, with Dempsey, I hope he gets more time next season and I think he will. But the problem with Dempsey is he's a bit of a tweener.
In the MLS he played as a central midfield who came forward a lot. Even playing as a support striker for Twellman. But for the National team he was always used as more of a winger. I don't think he can hack it in the EPL as central player at least not yet so he must play out wide. But I don't think he's crossing is that great and while he does have pace and a good amount of tricks, he's doesn't really put them both together. I've noticed when he starts playing fancy he slows way down, as opposed to top wingers who can pull off these kinds of moves while moving at high speed. We'll see how it works out for Dempsey, Fullham were lucky that Liverpool decided to disrespect the other teams in the relegation race and fielded a subpar squad, so he'll be able to ply his trade in the EPL next season.
