Barcelona have always been a class team, and I'm really happy, really, really happy Man U doesn't have 4 champions league cups. Very, very happy. :Tigger:
Messi's header was a thing of beauty. Brilliance.
Man United's pulling a Jan Brady-
BARCA, BARCA, BARCA!
Couldn't watch it live, but the people on the line were wondering why I went from my usual pissed-off self to ecstatic around 2:00pm yesterday... :)
I've since watched the match on DVR. So glad the good guys won. What a fantastic match for Barca.
Rumor has it Liverpool are linked with Fernando Llorentes to back up Fernando Torres.
Even though it is highly unlikely Llorentes would want to play second fiddle at Liverpool, it is interesting that his full name is Fernando Llorentes Torres. :69smile:
Villa is good, but they only need him if Liverpool plays the 442 or 352 often, which they won't. In the mean time, Gerrard and Torres on the pitch together is currently the deadliest partnership in the world.
I expect Villa to end up with either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Valencia are already bankrupt, so I'm expecting it to happen very soon, but IMHO Barcelona's priority isn't up front, but at the back beginning with Yaya, no?
Liverpool's no.1 priority is to continue to upgrade the wings. Albert Riera was an upgrade, but we need to take another step up with that position and an upgrade at right back. Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli is the winger we are linked with and the one we should buy instead of David Silva. However, Napoli selling him would be like Barcelona selling Messi.
Liverpool scored the most goals this season with Gerrard and Torres having injury problems, and Riera, Dirk Kuyt, Babel, Benayoun on the wings. Now that the Benitez machine is in full flow, imagine what we can achieve with one or two top class wingers, and better right back, backed up by those four.
As for the not so urgent need, Javi Martinez is also being linked with Liverpool as the long term replacement for Alonso and Steven Gerrard. I would love it if this kid comes to Liverpool.
I like the enthusiasm. I watch a lot of Liverpool games and I share the sentiment. I like Liverpool mainly because three of my favorite players on the planet are on the team. The two you mentioned & Xabi Alonso.
Those two are deadly, that goes without saying... but I don't think they're better than Barca's two Gods of the midfield.
