Vermaelen is very similar to Agger. Both left footed and very composed on the ball under pressure.

Agger plays like a playmaking midfielder occupying a defensive position, and has a lethal shot from distance.

Vermaelen is physically more imposing and is better in the air in attack and defense. Looks like a good buy from the Arse

Vermaelen reminds me of Cannavaro is some ways. Not in terms of skill but more style. Both players are short for CBs, Cannavaro extremely so, but they are both very aggressive, they attack their man and are proactive in defense. And despite being short in stature both guys are strong in the air, good verticals on these two.

    If true... HAHAHA!
Can't see it, sounds like the typical British tabloid stuff. Did you guys read some of the comments? I like that first one...

My close mate is actually a genuine Liverpool fan. He's mates with Torres and has just confirmed that this is true, Hicks and Gillett are holding crisis talks with Rafa before the Stoke game tonight.
    Sure buddy....

    How about this

Arsenal and Barca 'sign pact' on Cesc Fabregas's £30m return to the Nou Camp | Mail Online

I also think its funny that Barca want Eboue for RB cover. Good luck with that...

If there's one thing the Brits are masters of, it's the tabloid stuff. I take it all with a grain of salt. Anyone who doesn't, well, stupid. LOL.

    This one is good too.

"I was told by a mate who works at the club as a cleaner that this is so true!! He will leave the club today and Jose Mourinho will take over this weekend!!!"

Benitez said this 5 mins ago, doesent sound like someone on his way out.

"I have been surprised by the reaction from the first game, and comments about our prospects for the season. It is too early to judge. "Now we have another game, quickly. A win will make things easier but I do expect similar comments from the critics if we do not."

    BBC live text is saying

"Hmmm, a few of you have picked up on the chat about Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez apparently stepping down today, but it does appear to have just been a rumour. I say that, because Rafa is at Anfield tonight ahead of the Reds' game with Stoke - which appears (to me anyway) to suggest he is still in charge."
